About Girlygirl P.A.R.T.S. Pre-Screening Awareness Required To Silence ...ovarian cancer.
Girlygirl P.A.R.T.STM has simply started with two friends and a discussion over coffee in March 2009. Jill Di-Tommaso, diagnosed with ovarian cancer in February, 2008 and her wonderful friend Laura Smith have become committed to raising awareness about this devastating disease.
Both on a mission and personal triumph for all the ovarian cancer survivors, they have put together Cape Cods Second annual 5k run/walk for the awareness of ovarian cancer.
THE REASON - Ovarian cancer is often called the "disease that whispers" because the early warning signs often mimic those of many other common conditions. There is no reliable test for ovarian cancer and the most successful tool we have is the education of personal health. Girlygirl P.A.R.T.S.TM was created to increase awareness and education of ovarian cancer. By partnering with Dana-Farber's Cancer Institute, we all run towards one common goal...ending cancer as a threat to women. Together all of us can support this cause, "one step at a time".
