T.E.A.L. (Tell Every Amazing Lady)
Tell Every Amazing Lady's mission is to promote awareness of the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer, to enable early detection, and to help find the cure for this deadly disease.About Us: The ribbon color associated with ovarian cancer is teal, hence the name T.E.A.L., or Tell Every Amazing Lady. After Louisa M. McGregor's Ovarian Cancer diagnosis in 2007, she and her sister Pamela Esposito-Amery, started Tell Every Amazing Lady, or T.E.A.L. the following year. They were both shocked to learn that the prognosis for this cancer is so poor because doctors lack the knowledge, understanding, and tools to detect the disease early when survival chances are best. They began to understand that there was a vicious cycle at work, almost as insidious as the disease itself: lack of awareness, lack of treatment options, and lack of ability to diagnose come down to lack of funding for research. That is why they created Tell Every Amazing Lady.We draw attention to this critical disease, which is the leading cause of death among gynecological cancers, through our annual T.E.A.L. Walk and other events throughout the year. We are proud to announce that we raised $75,000 at the 3rd Annual T.E.A.L. Walk which benefits Ovarian Cancer research. Since 2009 T.E.A.L. has raised over $200,000 for Ovarian Cancer research. September is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. The T.E.A.L. Walk is an annual event that take place every September in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, New York.
